This unit covered the importance of reading and listening. It also covered understanding context. It also covered the many steps and processes as to why people read and listen. These motivations are important in how people absorb the information. I learned that I have to be careful when I am trying to make connections with students. Alluding to a societal norm from the U.S. to a class of foreigners will be problematic.
