This chapter reflected on coursebooks and explained how between using authentic materials such as newspapers and songs, and created materials such as crosswords and role-play cards, being an effective teacher is to adapt the material and make it relevant for the group of students being taught. It teaches that within coursebooks as well, it is important to distinguish the advantages and disadvantages of the content and adapt it for the students that are being taught.
