This unit just covered the different kinds of testing that is used throughout the teaching year to gauge student's language level. Placement tests are necessary in helping to determine what level class a certain student should be placed, while a diagnostic text is used is more extensive and used to see what the students already know, which will better help the teacher prepare lessons catered to the areas students are struggling with. I learned about the Cambridge Assessments which are completely new to me. There's the KET, PET, FCE, CAE, and CPE which all fall under the general English category. There's also the BEC and BULATS exams that fall under the business English category.
