TESOL Videos - TESOL TEFL Reviews - Video Testimonial - TEFL Video Journal - Linda, Part 2
This is the second part of Linda’s video journal of her 120-hour TEFL course with ITTT. In this TEFL review video Linda has just finished unit 2 of the course. This unit covers parts of speech and is the first grammar related unit in the course. While unit 2 is a little longer than unit 1 she found that it was not too much work for her to cope with. In the next video we will find out how Linda coped with unit 3 of ITTT’s 120-hour TEFL course.
This is what one of our TEFL graduates feels he has gained from the course, or a part of it, and how he plans to put into action what he has learned.
This unit is all about the way a teacher should introduce new language to her class, i.e.; Vocabulary, grammar structures and language functions. When we are introducing vocabulary, grammar or language functions, they all have different ESA structures. Vocabulary requires Straight Arrow ESA structure, Grammar has more of a Boomerang ESA structure and Language Function uses patchwork ESA structure. Moreover, what the students need to know about these three are also different. I believe if we incorporate these methods into our lesson plans, it will be easy on both the teacher and the students to grasp a new language.
