TESOL Videos - Do I need a TEFL certificate to teach abroad?
This is what one of our TEFL graduates feels he has gained from the course, or a part of it, and how he plans to put into action what he has learned.
This unit went over the basics of pronunciation in the English language. From phonology, intonation and stressors to phonetic script, this unit covers everything involved with pronunciation. The main thing I learned was the different places of articulation and how we use different areas of our teeth, mouth tongue and throat to create different sounds. For example placing our top teeth on our bottom lip creates an 'f' sound and is called the labio-dental place of articulation. Learning the details of how native English speakers create our sounds, makes it easier to teach pronunciation to English students!
