This unit is the last English grammar lesson in the program and focused on discussing, modals, phrasal verbs, and the active-passive voice in the sentence. Modals add meaning to the main verb and differ in degrees of formalities that somehow confuse students. You can use the modals interchangeably but you have to be careful as though it all seems correct, because it has different levels or degrees, some of the sentence’s meaning changes. Active and passive voices of the sentence emphasize the priority in meaning in sentences. Is the doer of the sentence more important than the object or vice versa? Phrasal verbs are verbs with one or two particles and best learned by students as vocabulary items. Grammar plays a big role in learning the English language. When taught based on the level of the students, with the right activities and materials, and accompanied by appropriate evaluation and feedback, it will help a learner gain more confidence in speaking the language.
