Unit 7 explains the different reasons on how to select and choose the vocabulary for the right audience and such as similarities to the students language, or the English already known. It was a very true statement in the opening, where the receptive or known vocabulary is greater than the productive or vocabulary is in use. For example in my particular case, I studied Mandarin, the vocabulary for me was high, because of rote memorization, however using these words everyday was infrequent. It was good that this particular lesson tied in learning from Unit 3 on ESA structures, Engage, Study and Activate.
