School Inclass TESOL

This course has provided me with a solid foundation to teach english as an additional language. The grammar activities were excellent and challenging; I enjoyed learning new concepts, as well as refreshing myself on forgotten ones. Although I have been teaching middle school for the past eight years, it was rejuvenating to learn new teaching ideas and strategies, which I did implement in my science classes. I thoroughly enjoyed learning about ESA lesson planning. I like how the lessons are broken into stages and that they are dynamic and student oriented. The course units and my tutor, Darren, supplied me with great resources that I can use to plan lessons, to stay abreast of current teaching strategies in ESL, and to assist me in my job hunt. The course has stimulated me on what type of learners I would like to teach and in what settings I would like to teach in. For me, this certification will provide me with more opportunity and security. As stated earlier, I have been a teacher for the past several years, and I am enthusiastic about teaching new students, in a new subject, and in a different setting.
