Organisation TESOL Diploma

This is my second year working within the japanese school system as an Assistant Language Teacher of english. I neither had a background in english nor in teaching when I started working in japan, and while working with my students, it became clear that to be effective I would have to try to understand the english learning process from an ESL perspective. For this reason, I have simultaneously worked to improve both my japanese skills and my knowledge of english. Completing this tefl course has helped me to better understand how my students interpret english, the rationale behind the problems that they encounter and ways that I can be more effective in the classroom. I expect to continue teaching in japan for at least one more year, and I hope to put into action what I have learned in this course everyday in the classroom.
