Teaching english can be fun for the teacher as well as the student. When I (Andrew) was a student, my teachers never used anything like an ESA outline. The class was like the study phase alone. One thing that really jumped out to my wife, Randi, was that you don't have to be an extrovert to be a good english teacher. You can use the simple ESA outline, and its variations, to effectively teach no matter what your personality type. The ESA is a very good tool for keeping the lessons interesting as well as teaching and staying on course. It was also useful for us to learn the grammar terms for British english. As far as I can tell, British english is what is taught around the world. It did take getting used to the terminology, since it differs from American terminology, but we enjoyed it. Neither my wife nor myself have education degrees, so we gained from learning how to adapt different games into teaching/learning excercises.
