TESOL Videos - TESOL TEFL Reviews - Video Testimonial - Marina
Marina from Moscow completed the 120-hour TEFL course with ITTT while on maternity leave. In her TEFL review she describes initially feeling apprehensive about studying online, Marina found this to be the best way to study for her in her situation. As a teacher of ten years, Marina did find some of the grammar units easier than expected for her but also found useful tips on teaching different skills. ITTT’s courses do not require trainees to have any previous teaching experience but those who have already been teaching for some time can still learn something new to help them develop their skills as an English teacher.
This is what one of our TEFL graduates feels he has gained from the course, or a part of it, and how he plans to put into action what he has learned.
In this section, the understanding of past tense for past simple, past continuous, past perfect, and past perfect continuous and there different usages are discussed. The similarities between each form and their present tense form is also demonstrated and makes linking the two together easily for students acknowledgeable. Irregular verbs and how to teach them is also discussed, as well as the common mistakes students make when learning these tenses. The use of flashcards for irregular verbs, and formation of sentences to practice tenses in group works are some of the given classwork solutions to these errors.
