In this lesson, I learned about the different methodologies of EFL teaching. These concepts varying from the teacher not speaking at all, to the teach giving the students vocabulary drill exercises until it's engrained in their minds. Each methodology has its positives and negatives, but the ESA format is the best to follow in this circumstance. E standing for engage, S for study and A for activate. Each as important as the other, the order after Engage can be switched up depending on the topic for the class. I learned about various activities I could have my students do for each sections, putting emphasis on engage, to really reel in the students for the lesson, and ending with fun activities to use what they learned and already know. I also learned when the teacher should jump in to correct mistakes or errors, in which should not be overused, but utilized to my best judgement, mostly leaving the engage state alone as to not discourage the students right away.
