This unit has provided information on several topics and has pressed upon some very critical points for teachers. Firstly, this unit teaches different methods of teaching along with the pros and cons of each. I learned from this all of the different approaches that can be helpful in teaching different leveled classes. For example higher level students might enjoy Community Language Learning, so that they might be able to practice their language and all they know. While lower leveled students may feel more comfortable with Task-Based Learning, where understanding is more of the goal. Emphasized in this unit is the importance of Elicitation and how it effects the learning process for students by making them active participants and minimizing teacher centered time. Along with this are examples of different methods on how to elicit. The rest of the unit is focused on the teach method of Engage, Study, and Activate (ESA). Given are definitions and examples of all of each stage, when to use it, and how each teacher should present themselves to properly guide each step. This Unit was amazingly informative in a sense that I now better understand how to conduct a class while being an affective and informative teacher.
