From this unit I've learned that there are many roles a teacher can take on. Depending on the situation, a teacher may need to act as an organizer, a participant, of a resource. The role also depends on the age range of the learners. Adult learners may need more of model while very young learners may need the teacher to act as more of an organizer and for activities. It is important for the students to also be willing to learn and have a desire for it. Past experience will also affect their future learning experience. Teaching style will also vary among students of different levels. Those who are higher levels may need more motivation and care from the teacher if they feel they have hit a plateau. It is important for a teacher to be able to know which role to use based on a student's language level, age, culture, and motivations.
