150-hour Certification Course with Teaching Practice (CTP)
Our 150-hour TESOL certificate course with teaching practice combines an initial online course with six hours of teaching practice. The online TESOL certificate awarded upon completion of the course is recognized and welcomed by a wide range of employers worldwide. Among its many benefits is you are able to set your own study pace to whatever suits your situation and individual learning style. After completing the CTP course, you will also have full access to ITTT’s extensive career support services for as long as you work in the field of ESL teaching.
Upon receipt of your course application we will send you the log-in details via email that you need to access your personal online course control panel. From the panel you can work on the course materials directly online or simply download them to a computer, tablet or smartphone and work on them wherever you choose.
Each individual course unit requires you to complete a short online test before you move onto the next section. Once all the units are successfully completed, you then begin the teaching practice section of the course which can be undertaken in any location that suits you best.
After teaching the required six lessons, you simply send us the course documentation and our team of experts will review your performance. Assuming your assessment is successful; you will graduate from the CTP course and receive your 150-hour CTP TESOL certificate.
TEFL Course Aims
Our 150-hour CTP TESOL course has been specifically put together to give you a comprehensive introduction to the world of English language teaching, whether at home or abroad. Every graduate of the course should develop a good working knowledge of the English grammar system, as well as a wide range of skills and techniques that you can put into practice in the classroom, both during and after the course.
TEFL Course Content
The 150-hour CTP TESOL course contains two distinct sections. Section 1 is solely focused on teaching skills required in the classroom. Some of the topics covered are teaching theories and methodologies, classroom management, lesson planning, and how to test and evaluate your students’ progress. This section also covers language awareness issues, such as English grammar subjects, pronunciation, and phonology.
To make the course easy to follow, these subjects are further divided into twenty units that have been specifically designed to gradually build up your knowledge, without overwhelming you with information. The purpose of this course design is to allow each individual to work through the materials at whatever pace they choose.
Section 2 of the course is where you actually start teaching. First you will need to organize a venue where you can complete a minimum of six hours teaching practice. Once they are complete, you can submit your teaching practice documents to ITTT and we will contact you with your course review within two working days. Please note that this course is graded as pass/fail only.
Upon successfully completing both sections of the course, you will receive a certificate that shows you have completed a 150-hour TEFL/TESOL certification course which included at least six hours of supervised teaching practice.
